LASSITER WRESTLING: THE PROUD
TRADITION
WELCOME TO LASSITER WRESTLING!
For twenty-six years, Lassiter Wrestling has established itself as one of the top wrestling powers
not only in Cobb County, but also one of the top programs the state of Georgia has to offer. Lead by Coach Steve Day in his
26th season, the Trojans have finished in the top ten of the Georgia AAAAA Championships three of the last six years,
finishing 6th in 2002, 5th in 2003, 10th in 2005 claiming five individual state titles along the way. Last season Lassiter
took five wrestlers to state and walked away wiith two all-state wrestlers.
This
summer many of the boys were busy attending camps. Acton Pifer went to Kansas City as part of the Cadet program; while Brian
Dopson, Jack Kostal, Dillon Dupree and Mitchel Leigh lounged away with Cael Sanderson in Iowa (see picture above).
For the 2007-2008 season the Trjoans will be led by state qualifiers Acton Pifer and
Johnny Suarez. In addition Kevin Metzer, Dillon Dupree, Mitchel Leigh, Eddie Christopher and Nick Collins should
turn some heads. Our full 2007-2008 outlook will be available in November.
